Elf Pair Holding Hands on a Mossy Log
Coloring guide
Two little elves walk carefully hand in hand across a mossy log that stretches over a small stream. The boy has a pointed hat with a feather tucked into the band, a belted tunic and curly-toed boots. The girl wears long braids, a tall hat with a flower on it, and a petal-edged dress with a belt and matching pointed boots. Both have pointed ears and happy smiles. Two fish swim in the rippling water under the log, rounded rocks sit along the bank, and leafy ferns and plants frame both sides. The fluffy moss and the petal skirt offer lots of small areas to color. Soft greens are good for the moss and ferns, and bright pink or yellow suits the flower on her hat. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the stream: color the water sky blue, leaving the little white ripple lines untouched.
- 2Fill the fallen log and its moss with olive brown and lime green, then color the rocks light gray and slate gray.
- 3Color the elf clothes: the boy's tunic and sleeves in leaf green, the girl's dress and hat in cherry red, and the boy's hat band in bright green.
- 4Add the boots, trousers and hair in chestnut brown, and the faces, ears and hands in peach skin, keeping the eye whites and hair highlights white.
- 5Finish the fish in golden yellow, the bushes in leaf green and soft green, and the flower on the girl's hat in golden yellow. Optional: add a slightly darker shade along one side of each shape for depth.
