Paddling Elf in a Leaf Boat Beside Frog and Dragonflies
Coloring guide
Seated in a curled leaf boat, a cheerful little elf in a floppy pom-pom hat paddles across a pond with a big wooden oar. The elf has pointy ears and a wide open-mouthed smile, and the zigzag collar and belted tunic add lots of small shapes to color. A friendly frog sits on a lily pad at the lower right, more lily pads float on the rippling water, and three smiling dragonflies hover above. Tall cattails and grassy reeds frame both sides. Large open areas for crayons and smaller details for markers make this free printable a good pick for kids who like nature scenes. Try a bright red hat and collar with a green tunic, and a few shades of green on the leaf boat so the elf pops against the blue water. Kids who like Elf coloring pages usually enjoy Zombie and Pirate too.

- 1Color the leaf boat, the lily pads and the grass in lime green, keeping the background white.
- 2Paint the water around the boat and the frog's lily pad in sky blue, and use light blue and pale blue for the dragonfly wings.
- 3Fill the elf's hat and shirt with tomato red, and color the hat band, collar, cuffs and pants in forest green, leaving the pom-pom white.
- 4Color the elf's face, ears and hands in peach skin, the hair and cattails in chocolate brown, and the paddle in caramel tan.
- 5Color the frog's body in lime green, its belly in golden yellow, and the reeds in leaf green.
- 6Optional: add a slightly darker green along the bottom edge of the leaf boat for a touch of depth.
