Fluffy Long-Haired Cat Resting on a Soft Cushion

A fluffy long-haired cat lounges on what looks like a soft cushion or folded blanket, its eyes closed and its face relaxed in a contented little smile. Long whiskers fan out from both cheeks, and the thick fur around the neck and chest is drawn with short, feathery lines. One front paw stretches out in front with the toes showing, while a back paw peeks out near the big, plume-like tail that curls across the bottom of the page. The pillow shapes behind and beneath the cat have smooth, flowing outlines with plenty of open space. Try soft colored pencils to build up the fur texture, using light strokes that follow the direction of the lines. This free printable also works well for talking about how real cats look when they nap, from the closed eyes to the curled tail.
