Flying Santa with Two Reindeer Over Snowy Rooftops: Christmas for Kids

Coloring guide
Leaning forward in his sleigh with curly runners, Santa holds the reins while two smiling reindeer leap through the night sky ahead of him. The sleigh behind him is piled with wrapped presents, one with a bow, and a candy cane sticks up from the load. Both reindeer wear collars with jingle bells, and a big crescent moon and several scattered stars hang above. At the bottom of the page, snow-covered rooftops with brick chimneys, arched windows and a couple of little pine trees spread out below. The shapes are large and clear for young kids with chunky crayons, and the bells, bricks and gift wrap give older kids plenty of detail. Bright red suits Santa's suit and hat, and soft blue and purple on the snowy roofs will make the night feel cold. This free printable is a good pick for a holiday classroom or a quiet afternoon at home. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color the snowy rooftops and ground with ice blue, and leave the sky, moon and background white.
- 2Color Santa and his sleigh in bright red, including the hat, coat, mittens and sleigh body, and leave the beard, fur trim and glove cuffs white.
- 3Fill the reindeer with light brown, add dark brown hooves and caramel brown antlers, and keep the eye whites white.
- 4Color the houses and trees: bright red for the chimneys and the big house, bright blue for the middle house, forest green for the bottom right house and the trees, and rust red for the candy cane.
- 5Add the smaller details: golden yellow for the sleigh rim and curls, green for the gift sack and ribbon, slate gray for the gift box, peach for faces, and bright yellow for the stars and window lights.
- 6Optional: add a little shading with a slightly darker shade of each color for depth on the reindeer and sleigh.
