Garden Hedgehog Watering Tulips

Up on its hind legs, a smiling hedgehog tips a watering can over a row of tulips while water drops fall from the spout. Long spiky quills cover its back, and it has round ears, big shiny eyes and a little round nose. A wooden picket fence with small round holes in the posts stands behind it, with soft bushes peeking over the top and a few grass tufts along the ground. Four tulips with long pointed leaves bloom up front. The petals and big quill shapes leave kids plenty of room to color, and the lines are bold enough for small hands. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the tulips: color the flower heads coral red and the leaves and stems leaf green.
- 2Fill the bushes behind the fence and the bush at the left with moss green, then color the grass patches and grass tufts at the bottom with lime green.
- 3Color the hedgehog's spiky back and head spines in chocolate brown, then fill the belly, arms, paws and ear with light peach.
- 4Paint the watering can sky blue, its handle royal blue, and the sprinkler head light blue, leaving the spout area bright.
- 5Color the fence posts and rails in caramel, then add sky blue water drops falling from the sprinkler.
- 6Optional: add a touch of honey gold to the hedgehog's cheek and a few darker strokes on the spines, and leave the eye shines white.
