On a stepping-stone path in front of a candy-covered gingerbread house, a smiling gingerbread man waves with one arm raised. He has a bow tie and squiggly icing on his arms and legs. The house has a wavy icing roofline dotted with gumdrops, a round scalloped window near the top and a swirled peppermint candy at the peak. A snowy brick chimney sits on the right. Down below, a bow with a gumdrop in the middle decorates the arched plank door, with a square frosted window on each side. Tall striped candy canes stand at both ends, and a row of swirly lollipops lines the fence out front. Gumdrops edge the path, and small bushes and tufts of grass fill the corners. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the big house walls, the roof sides and the gingerbread man with gingerbread brown, leaving the white icing along the roof edges as it is.
- 2Color the door, the peppermint candy, the strawberry-style gumdrops on the roof and the candy canes in candy red, leaving the white stripes on the candy canes.
- 3Color the window panes and the round window center with golden yellow, and leave the window halo and snowy window tops white.
- 4Use forest green for the bushes, the bow center and the green gumdrops on the path, and bright green for a few gumdrops on the roof.
- 5Color the chimney bricks burnt orange and add light pink to the lower candy cane stripe, keeping the path stones and lollipops bright.
- 6Optional: shade the bottom of the gingerbread man and the house walls with a slightly darker stroke for depth.
