Godzilla fills the whole page here, shown from the chest up and staring straight at you with his mouth open wide in a roar. His round eyes have bold pupils under angry, slanted brows, and two nostrils sit on top of that wide snout. Sharp teeth line both the upper and lower jaws. Bubble-shaped scaly plates cover his forehead, cheeks and neck, and one large pointed dorsal fin rises over his head with smaller spikes next to it. Three simple outlined clouds sit behind him. Because the scales leave so many small spaces for crayons or markers, it's a good fit for kids who like detailed work. Different shades of green work well on the scales, and leaving the teeth and eyes bright white makes them pop. Print it whenever you want a quick coloring break. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the clouds and the sky on both sides of the picture, coloring them sky blue and leaving the middle background white.
- 2Fill the nose, the thick curved lip band, and the chest plate below the mouth with golden yellow.
- 3Color the inside of the open mouth rose red, and paint the top head spike and the side spikes tangerine orange.
- 4Fill the big round scales on the head and body with forest green and lime green, mixing them so no two neighbors match.
- 5Add pale lime to the remaining scales for a lighter, sparkly look, keeping the eye whites and teeth white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker green along the bottom edges of the scales to make them look rounded.
