Grazing Zebra With Flowers and a Rock

Coloring guide
This cartoon zebra dips its head to nibble a tuft of grass, one eye wide open and a little smile on its face. The tall ears point up, and a spiky mane runs along the neck. Bold curved stripes wrap the body and the legs, which finish in chunky hooves, and the tail swings out with a fluffy tip. Around the zebra are small grass clumps, a smooth rounded rock at the bottom right, and three flowers with round centers and simple petals, two in the bottom corners and one on the right. Thick outlines and roomy open spaces suit preschoolers and early elementary kids, and the free printable leaves lots of space to experiment. Soft pink or lavender stripes make a nice change from black, especially with bright green grass and yellow or orange petals. Fans of Zebra coloring pages often like Chicken and Shark as well.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the rock light gray, leaving a little white near its top edge for a soft highlight.
- 2Fill the zebra's dark stripes on the body, legs, mane and tail with dark gray, going around the white stripes so they stay bright.
- 3Color the zebra's inner ears soft pink and fill the nose with dark gray.
- 4Color the two small leaves at the bottom of each flower with leaf green, and keep the flower petals white.
- 5Fill the zebra's eye pupil and mane outline with black, leaving a small white shine in the eye.
- 6Optional: Add light hatching strokes in the dark gray areas to give the stripes a pencil-like texture.
