Grinning Crab on the Beach with Seashell and Starfish

Here's a happy crab with big round eyes on tall stalks, both claws up in the air and its mouth open in a grin. The oval body has bold outlines that little hands can handle, and the segmented legs spread out on either side. Underneath, a few short wavy lines mark the sand, and a ridged scallop shell, a small spiral snail shell and a dotted starfish rest on the ground. There's no water or other background, so the page stays clean and simple. It's free to print and works well for preschoolers and early elementary kids. A bright orange-red crab looks great next to a pale pink starfish and a sandy yellow shell. The starfish dots are a good spot to practice careful coloring with markers or pencils. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big crab body, both claws, and all the arms and legs with coral red, leaving the eye whites and the background white.
- 2Fill the smiling mouth with crimson red for the inside and soft pink for the tongue at the bottom.
- 3Color the scallop shell on the left and the one on the right with lilac pink, working one ridge at a time.
- 4Paint the starfish with golden orange, filling each arm and the center.
- 5Color the small snail shell with sky blue, using slightly different tones on each ring if you like.
- 6Optional: add a few small dots or lines of a slightly darker shade on the claws and legs for a bit of texture.
