Acorn Basket Walk With a Happy Forest Hedgehog
Coloring guide
Through an autumn forest strolls a smiling hedgehog, carrying a woven basket full of acorns while three little birds watch from an oak branch above. There's plenty here to keep young colorers busy. The hedgehog has spiky, textured fur, big round eyes and a cheerful open-mouth grin. A thick oak trunk with a knot pattern stands on the right, with leafy branches and a few hanging acorns overhead. More acorns, oak leaves, grass tufts and a little mushroom are scattered over the forest floor, and behind the hedgehog you can see pine trees, bushes and what looks like a stream. Browns and tans suit the hedgehog and bark, and golden yellow and orange on the oak leaves bring a cozy fall feel. Big shapes like the basket and birds are easy for small hands. - 1Start with the hedgehog face, body, and paws in peach, leaving the eye whites, the small teeth, and the shine on the eyes white.
- 2Fill the tree trunk and its knot with warm brown, then add the pale pink inner ear of the hedgehog.
- 3Color the grass and ground at the bottom in light green and yellow green, and paint the river water and bushes in leaf green and forest green.
- 4Paint the three birds and their branch bright yellow, and color the oak leaves in sunny yellow and golden orange.
- 5Fill the basket acorns with light amber and sunny yellow, and color the red mushroom cap in red with cream underneath.
- 6Optional: add a little darker brown along the trunk and under the hedgehog for depth, and keep the sky and open background white.
