Happy Little Bus Rolling Along a Winding Road

Here comes a friendly little bus with big sparkly eyes and a wide smile, heading your way down a curvy road. It has a rounded front, two circular headlights, a small sign panel above the windshield, and side mirrors that look a bit like ears. Three tall windows run along its side, and the two chunky wheels with hubcaps are easy for small hands to fill in. Dashed lines run down the middle of the road as it curves across the bottom. A couple of puffy clouds float behind the bus, with tiny bushes at the edges. Thick, clean outlines and roomy shapes make this a good match for preschoolers using crayons or chunky markers. Yellow for the body, light blue for the windows and gray for the road would look great. It's a free printable that fits a transportation lesson or a quiet afternoon at home. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the bus body: color the side panel, lower side body, front fender, roof edge and right fender golden yellow, and the lower front body bright yellow.
- 2Fill the windshield and the two clouds with pale blue, then color the side windows and rear window sky blue.
- 3Color the roof sign royal blue, the headlight rings and round lights amber orange, and the stripe along the side orange.
- 4Use dark gray for the tires, mirrors, front bumper and wheel arches, and light gray for the wheel hubs. Color the road edge medium gray.
- 5Color the grass and bushes grass green, with the small bush on the left light green.
- 6Fill the smile with coral pink on the tongue area, and leave the smile teeth, eye shines and road dashes white. Optional: add a little darker shading along the lower edges of the bus for depth.
