A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big green areas: color the trees, grass, and bushes in leaf green and forest green, and leave the flag and swing set's bright details white.
- 2Color the school building in brick red and the roof in slate blue, then fill the bell tower and the double front door with blue.
- 3Fill the school bus with golden yellow, and use royal blue for the driver's hat and shirt and the bus seats.
- 4Color the bus windows and windshield in light sky blue, and add the driver's peach skin face and hands, keeping the eye whites and headlights white.
- 5Color the kids next: the girl's hair in orange, her dress in brick red, her backpack strap in bright red, and the boy's hair in chocolate brown and backpack in forest green.
- 6Finish with the sidewalk and road in light gray and the bus wheels, grille, and mirrors in charcoal or steel gray. Optional: add a little darker shading under the bus and along the sidewalk edges for depth.
