Little Bus Passing a Daisy by the Road

Big sparkly eyes and an open-mouthed grin give this little bus plenty of personality as it rolls down a curved road. It's drawn at an angle, so you can see the large front windshield with a few shine lines, two round headlights, a rounded roof sign and a side mirror sticking out on each side. The side windows and chunky wheels with simple hubcaps are easy for small hands to fill in. Dashes mark the road, and a single daisy-style flower with two leaves grows in the grass in the bottom right corner. Thick outlines and large open spaces suit preschoolers and early elementary kids. Classic school-bus yellow works for the body, light blue for the windows, and a pink or purple flower will make the bus stand out. The free PDF prints at home with no sign-up needed. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big yellow areas: color the front face, the side body and the back fender in golden yellow, leaving the eye whites and the small shine spots white.
- 2Fill the windshield and the side windows with sky blue, then add royal blue to the dashboard at the bottom of the windshield.
- 3Color the top sign panel orange and the two round lights on the top corners bright red.
- 4Use charcoal for the tires and the gray bumper, and dark gray for the side mirrors and the steering wheel, leaving the wheel hubs light gray.
- 5Paint the open mouth maroon, add coral pink to the tongue, and fill the flower petals coral pink with a leaf green stem and leaves.
- 6Optional: Finish with bright blue on the front wheel hubcap and the two headlights, color the flower center pale yellow, and add light gray road dashes, leaving the background white.
