A big heart outline holds a simple five-petal flower with a round center, and little circles are sprinkled around it. The shapes are clear and there are lots of spots to fill in. Outside the big heart, a border of smaller hearts and tiny circles runs around the page, with three hearts across the top, two on each side, and three along the bottom. The petals are large and open, which is great for blending or patterns, and the small circles give kids practice at careful coloring. Pink, red, and purple would look good on the hearts, with a bright yellow flower center and orange or blue petals so the flower pops against the heart. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the large heart background in bright red, working evenly across the whole big heart shape.
- 2Fill the five flower petals in soft pink, including the top petal and the two lower petals.
- 3Color the flower center in golden yellow, then add the small yellow dots scattered inside the big heart.
- 4Color the larger hearts around the border in lavender purple, and the two smaller side hearts in orange.
- 5Add the blue dots, green dots, and the small yellow circles around the outside edge of the page.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading with a slightly darker red at the edges of the heart to make it look more layered.
