Coloring guide
Five zebras stroll side by side toward you across an open grassy plain. The biggest stands front and center with ears up and a friendly face, two zebras flank it on each side, and a smaller foal on the right shows a tail tuft. Each zebra has bold curved stripes, short upright manes and big round eyes, so there are plenty of shapes to color. Behind them, flat-topped acacia trees dot the savanna, and a large mountain rises in the distance under puffy outlined clouds. Tufts of grass, small bushes and a rock fill the foreground. Soft greens and golden yellows suit the grass and sky, and pale gray or brown works for the mountain. After that, choose fun stripe colors for the zebras. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the savanna grassland and bushes with golden yellow, covering the lower half of the page and the open ground around the zebras.
- 2Color the mountain in royal blue, add pale blue to its snowy peak, and fill the distant hills with sea green and the far slopes with sky blue.
- 3Use leaf green for the acacia tree canopies, grass tufts, and the bottom right grass, then add mint teal to the bushes and trees on the sides.
- 4Fill the gray rocks with silver gray, the zebra noses and muzzles with charcoal gray, the hooves with light gray, and the inner ears with coral pink, leaving the stripes, eyes, and bodies white.
- 5Optional: Add a little extra pressure at the bottom of the mountain and the edges of the yellow field to make the colors feel richer.
