Hot Air Balloon Trip with Bunny, Kitten and Mouse (Calico Critters)
Coloring guide
Three friends, a smiling bunny, a kitten and a tiny mouse, peek over the edge of a woven basket while their hot air balloon floats above a peaceful countryside. The balloon is covered in patterns to color: hearts, circles, round scallops, and pointed triangle flags along the bottom edge. Down below are a windmill on a hill, a wooden fence, a little village with a church steeple, a stone bridge over a stream, and a row of flowers up front. Fluffy clouds and three small birds fill the sky. Soft pink and red are nice for the hearts, sky blue for the clouds, and green for the rolling hills. The large shapes are good for younger kids, and the village details keep older children busy. Print this free page for a quiet, creative moment. Love this Calico Critters coloring page? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big balloon: color the red panels red, the yellow stripes and bands golden yellow, and the blue stripes bright blue, leaving the small highlight spots white.
- 2Fill the bunny with tan, its inner ears with pale pink, and the kitten with cream; color the little mouse light gray, and keep the teeth and cheek highlights white.
- 3Color the basket brown with a light brick-like pattern, then fill the hanging pouches with golden yellow.
- 4Add the landscape: lime green and light green hills, grass green bushes, trees and grass, light blue mountains, and the river in light blue, leaving the windmill tower white.
- 5Color the clouds pale sky blue and the balloon's olive edges in dark olive, then finish the pink hearts on the balloon. Optional: Add a little darker shading under the balloon and bunny for depth.
