A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big robes: fill Jesus' long robe and sleeves with cream, and color the seated man's clothing sky blue, leaving small light spots on the fabric.
- 2Color Jesus' outer robe and the sash across his body with brick red.
- 3Paint the tree and bushes with forest green and bright green, and fill the grass and ground around them with light green.
- 4Color the donkey's body orange brown, its mane dark brown, its ears coral pink, and its saddle light tan.
- 5Add peach skin to the faces, hands, arms and feet; use chestnut brown for Jesus' hair and beard and taupe brown for the other man's hair and beard.
- 6Optional: add charcoal gray to the donkey's hooves and light gray to the rocks. Leave the sky and the small highlight on the tree trunk white.
