Large Fig Leaf With Lobes and Veins

Coloring guide
A single fig leaf fills the page, drawn with a thick wavy outline and a long thin stem that curves out toward the lower right. The leaf has several rounded lobes, with deep notches between them. One big lobe sits at the upper left, a narrower lobe points up on the right, a wide lobe sits at the right side, and two more lobes reach toward the lower left and the bottom. A strong central vein runs diagonally from the stem, and thinner veins branch off it into every lobe, with some lines drawn lighter than others. The open spaces are big and easy for small hands to fill. Try coloring the leaf in layers of green, using a darker shade near the main vein and a lighter one toward the edges. Older kids can trace the veins first and talk about how a leaf moves water.
