The Grinch Sneaking Away With a Big Wrapped Present
Coloring guide
The Grinch hunches forward with a sly, toothy grin and slanted eyebrows, hugging a large gift box against his furry body. The present has vertical stripes down the sides and a big, floppy bow on top, with ribbon tails hanging down the front. His shaggy fur shows up in the tufts around his neck, wrists, and ragged tunic hem, and you can see his long fingernails and clawed feet. The spiky hair on top of his head adds to the mischievous look. Because the gift is so large, there are plenty of open spaces for little hands to fill in. Try bright red and white stripes on the box with a green bow, then color the Grinch in classic green. This free printable works well for a holiday afternoon at home or in the classroom. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the Grinch's head top, face, cheek, both hands, both legs and feet with lime green, leaving the eye whites white.
- 2Fill the gift box sides and front panels with forest green, leaving the ribbon stripes for later.
- 3Color the Grinch's red coat, the bow loops, tails and knot with bright red, keeping the white fur collar and arm cuffs white.
- 4Add coral pink to the highlight on the top ribbon and olive green to the top surface of the box.
- 5Use dark red for the shadowy edge at the bottom of the coat, and leave the gap between the legs white.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes on the coat and box edges to give them more depth.
