Mid-Leap Squirrel with a Bushy Tail Between Branches

Coloring guide
Caught in the middle of a jump, this cheerful squirrel reaches its front paws forward and kicks its back feet out behind. The big bushy tail curls up and over its back, and the open smile, sparkly eyes, whiskers and tufted ears make it look playful. Four leaves float through the air, and a simple sun with short rays shines in the upper right. Two gnarled branches with leafy twigs fill the bottom corners, so it looks like the squirrel is hopping from one to the other. The tail has lots of tiny fur strokes, which is handy practice for careful coloring. Try reddish-brown for the squirrel, tan for the face and tummy, and bright yellow for the sun. Nice for a quiet afternoon or an autumn class activity. If you enjoyed this Squirrel page, don't miss our Puppies and Cats coloring pages.

- 2Fill the inner ears and the open mouth with soft pink.
- 3Color the muzzle and cheek area light peach so the face looks soft and friendly.
- 4Color the sun circle golden yellow, and fill the branches with warm brown.
- 5Color all the leaves leaf green, then leave the small shine spots in the squirrel's eyes white.
- 6Optional: add a few darker orange strokes on the tail and back to make the fur look fuller.
