Mama Octopus Giving Three Babies a Hug

A big, smiling mama octopus wraps her long curly tentacles around three little baby octopuses in this sweet underwater scene. She has large sparkly eyes with lashes and a few oval spots on her round head, and each baby has a happy face, a spotted head and swirly little arms. Tall wavy seaweed fills both sides of the background, small plants and rocks sit in the bottom corners, and round bubbles float toward the top. Small hands will do well with the big sections on the mama's head and tentacles, while older kids can work on the suckers and curls. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big mama octopus head and all her curling tentacles in soft purple, leaving the eye whites and the small highlight spots on her head white.
- 2Color the three baby octopuses: tangerine orange for the left one, turquoise for the right one, and coral pink for the one at the bottom.
- 3Fill the seaweed and leaves on both sides with emerald green and lime green, and add grass green to the leaves near the bottom.
- 4Color the two gray rocks at the bottom and the small bubbles with sky blue, keeping the background bubbles white.
- 5Add light pink suckers along the tentacles and a few berry pink and peach touches on the baby octopuses for detail.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shade of soft purple along one side of each tentacle to make them look rounder.
