Moon-Gazing Raccoon on a Rock

Coloring guide
Perched on a rounded rock, a young raccoon tilts its face up toward a big full moon covered in crater circles. Large round eyes, a little nose and a soft smile give it a curious, dreamy look. Small tufts of fur circle the cheeks and chest, and the big ringed tail curls around behind it. Three tall pine trees stand in the background and a few small stars are scattered across the night sky. The large, open shapes make this free printable a good choice for preschoolers and early elementary kids, while the stripes, fur and moon craters give older children more to work on. Soft grays and charcoal suit the fur, and you can alternate dark and light gray on the tail rings. A deep blue or purple sky around the moon would feel quiet and cozy. - 2Fill the pine trees with forest green, leaving the far right tree edge white.
- 3Color the raccoon's head and body with medium gray, then fill the inside of both ears with coral pink.
- 4Color the tail with light gray and charcoal gray stripes, alternating them from the tip to the base.
- 5Add slate gray to the paws and the dark face mask in charcoal gray, keeping the eye whites and the small highlight on the nose white.
- 6Optional: Add a few light gray strokes on the body and head to create soft fur shading.
