A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the squirrel mother's body, tail, head and both babies' heads with squirrel orange, leaving the eye whites and bark background white.
- 2Fill the inner ears, the mother's nose and the babies' ears with soft pink, and add squirrel orange to the paws and the cheek areas.
- 3Color the inside of the tree hollow with dark brown, working around the squirrels so their outlines stay clean.
- 4Color the bark on the branches, the tree knot and the bark edges with warm tan, then fill all the leaves with leaf green.
- 5Fill the babies' muzzles and chins with cream beige, keeping the eye whites and highlights white for sparkle.
- 6Optional: add a few light strokes of darker orange under the squirrel's belly and tail to give the fur a bit of depth.
