Octopus Blowing a Stream of Bubbles

Coloring guide
Floating in the middle of the page, a cheerful octopus with big shiny eyes and an open happy smile blows a stream of bubbles that drifts up toward the top right corner. The bubbles run from tiny ones to a single large round bubble, and each has a little shine mark you can leave white. A handful of circle spots decorate the round head, and eight curly tentacles spiral outward with a row of small suckers underneath. Some wavy lines on both sides and along the bottom hint at water. Thick outlines and roomy spaces work for preschoolers and early elementary kids, while the curls give older children more to do. Soft purple or orange for the octopus and pale blue for the bubbles is a good start. Print this free page for kids and coloring fans of every age. Kids who like Octopus coloring pages usually enjoy Dragonfly and Giraffe too.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- medium purple
- sky blue
- lavender
- coral pink
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the big round head and all the curly tentacles with medium purple, going around the eyes and the suckers so they stay white.
- 2Color the bubbles floating beside the octopus with sky blue, leaving the shiny highlight curves on the large bubbles white.
- 3Add lavender to the round spots on the top and left side of the head, plus the little spot near the middle of the head.
- 4Fill the smiling mouth and a few of the suckers on the tentacles with coral pink for a cheerful touch.
- 5Leave the eye whites, the sucker rings on the bottom tentacle and the highlights white so the shapes pop.
- 6Optional: Add a slightly darker purple shadow along the lower edges of the tentacles for depth.
