Parade of Kids With Heart Flags and a Drum

Coloring guide
Marching down a cobblestone street, a smiling girl with long wavy hair plays a snare drum decorated with hearts, with four kids following right behind. A boy on the left waves a big heart flag on a pole. On the right another kid holds heart balloons, and a girl in a skirt and a curly-haired child join the parade as well. Heart-shaped confetti fills the air and covers the stones, and heart-trimmed bunting hangs between the buildings. Flower boxes sit under the windows, and a street lamp and a church steeple show up in the background. Hearts appear on shirts, flags and balloons, so there's lots to color for kids who enjoy a busy page. Bright red and pink for the balloons and flags and a sunny yellow drum would be a good start. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big cobblestone street and the stone ground at the bottom: color it soft sky blue, and leave the little white hearts scattered on the stones unpainted.
- 2Fill the faces, hands, arms and legs of all the kids with light peach, and color the drum shell with ivory cream, leaving its top and white shirt areas bright.
- 3Color the three big flags and the heart balloons bright red, keeping the white heart in the middle of each flag white, then add light pink to the small hearts on the bunting and the balloons on the right.
- 4Give the clothes their colors: bright blue for the left boy's hoodie and the right boy's jeans, forest green for the right boy's jacket, tan brown for the left boy's pants, and lavender purple for the middle girl's skirt.
- 5Add the amber orange hair on the boy and the light yellow walls on the buildings, then fill the bushes and tree with leaf green and the garland leaves with lime green.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading with a darker shade of each color along one side of the kids and flags to make them look more three-dimensional.
