A smiling peacock stands tall on a grassy bank, its big round tail feathers fanned behind it like a sunburst. Each feather has a swirly eye in the middle, which means lots of small circles to fill in. The bird has a long curved neck, a little crown of three dot-topped plumes, a textured chest, and layered wing feathers. In front, a small pond holds flat lily pads and two lotus flowers, and a friendly frog sits on a pad at the lower right. Tall cattails and leafy plants frame both sides. Teal, blue and green would suit the tail eyes, and bright pink or yellow would brighten the lotus blooms. Grab the free PDF and print it at home for a quick coloring break. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big fan of tail feathers in leaf green, then fill the round eye spots with golden yellow.
- 2Fill the peacock's body and neck with deep blue, and color the wing feathers with bright blue, royal blue and teal green.
- 3Color the eye centers of the feathers in navy blue, and the beak in amber.
- 4Paint the grass and reeds in lime green and leaf green, and the cattail tops in brown.
- 5Color the lily pads and pond water in leaf green and light blue, then add a pink lily flower and a pale yellow frog.
- 6Optional: Leave the eye whites, the legs and the cattail stalks white, and add a few light shading strokes on the feathers.
