Picnic Time with Calico Critters Bear, Squirrel and Mouse
Coloring guide
A smiling bear cub sits in the center of this picnic, clutching a sandwich in both paws, with a squirrel on one side and a little mouse on the other. The squirrel, tail all fluffed out, nibbles a strawberry, and the mouse has a sandwich of its own plus a long curly tail. In front of them, a woven basket is piled with strawberries, and one more sandwich rests at the corner of the checkered blanket. A big tree trunk with leafy branches stretches overhead, with rounded bushes and grass tufts close by and a couple of small flowers along the bottom edge. All those blanket checks give kids lots of squares to fill. Red and pink are great for the strawberries, warm brown for the bear, and a soft blue and white pattern for the blanket. This free printable works for beginners and for kids who enjoy tiny details. Looking for more? Our Baby Shark and Pokémon coloring pages pair nicely with this Calico Critters page.

- leaf green
- bright orange
- blush pink
- pale peach
- cool gray
- light sand
- caramel tan
- salmon pink
- lime green

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the tree trunk, the bear's head and body, and the bear's arms in chestnut brown, leaving the bear's eye whites untouched.
- 2Color the squirrel's body and tail in bright orange, then fill its belly and the sandwich it holds in light sand.
- 3Fill the mouse's body with cool gray, and color the mouse's ears and muzzle in the same gray.
- 4Add the leafy canopy, the bushes on the right and the grass in leaf green and lime green, keeping any background sky white.
- 5Color the picnic blanket checks in salmon pink, pale peach and blush pink, leaving the white squares as they are, then fill the basket in honey gold and caramel tan.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading with a darker shade of each main color on the tree trunk and the bear's belly to give the picture more depth.
