Playful Raccoon Tossing Autumn Leaves

Coloring guide
Up from a big heap of oak leaves comes a cheerful young raccoon, both paws in the air and a happy open-mouthed smile. More leaves swirl around it, and small motion lines show they were just tossed. Behind the raccoon, a large tree trunk with a knothole and scalloped leafy branches stretches across the top corner, and a round pumpkin sits at its base next to a few grass tufts. The striped, ringed tail curls out of the leaf pile on the right. Big eyes, a face mask and fluffy chest fur give kids plenty to color, and all those oak leaves are good for small hands practicing careful strokes. Gray and charcoal fit the raccoon, while orange, red and golden yellow leaves and an orange pumpkin bring on the fall feeling. A free printable for autumn activity time at home or in class. - 1Start with the grass patches and bushes on the left and right, plus the small grass tufts, in grass green and pale green.
- 2Fill the raccoon's head, body, arms and light tail bands in light gray, leaving the small paws and the highlight on the raised paw white.
- 3Color the tree trunk and branches in tree brown, then add golden yellow and honey yellow to the leaves at the top of the tree.
- 4Fill the big leaf pile and the falling leaves with bright orange, golden orange, tangerine, burnt orange, coral red, brick red and rust brown, mixing them for a cozy autumn look.
- 5Color both pumpkins in bright orange, the dark tail bands in charcoal gray, the inner ears in blush pink and the tongue in salmon pink, keeping the highlights white.
- 6Optional: add a few soft darker strokes along the edges of the leaves and the shadowed side of the raccoon for extra depth.
