Pond Paddle: Squirtle Pulling a Sailboat
Coloring guide
Paddling through rippling pond water, a happy turtle-like creature tows a little wooden sailboat with a rope tied to its spiral-patterned shell. It wears a big grin, its eyes are wide, and a fin-shaped crest sits on top of its head. Water splashes around its flippers. Two dragonflies hover above, and tall cattails and grassy reeds fill the left and right edges. Rounded bushes line the far shore, and a few rocks sit in the bottom corner. A small pennant flag flies at the top of the sailboat's mast. Soft teal or sky blue for the creature and warm tan for the boat will help the rope and sail stand out from the water. Print it free and keep a few extra copies around. Looking for more? Our Eevee (Pokémon) and Legendary Pokémon coloring pages pair nicely with this Squirtle page.

- 1Color the turtle body, head, and flippers with lime green, leaving the eye whites bright white.
- 2Fill the water and splashes with sky blue and pale blue, keeping the highlight ripples white.
- 3Paint the shell with honey orange in the swirl and chestnut brown along the edges.
- 4Color the sailboat hull with burnt orange and the sail with pale blue, leaving the right side of the sail white.
- 5Add leaf green to the back fin, grass, and reeds, with soft green for a few fresh touches, and make the flag bright yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading with a slightly darker green on the turtle and a darker blue on the water for depth.
