Rainbow Over a Cozy Cottage and Spring Tulips

A big rainbow arches over a little cottage on a grassy hill. In the top corner, a smiling sun peeks from behind a puffy cloud, and two more clouds float close by. The cottage has a chimney puffing curly smoke, a round-top front door and cross-pane windows. A winding path runs down the hill from the door, and a small wooden fence, round bushes and a leafy tree sit beside it, with tufts of grass dotting the slope. Along the bottom, tulips with tall leaves and daisy-like flowers fill the foreground. The rainbow bands are wide enough for little hands, so each stripe can get its own color. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the clouds and the small cloud in sky blue, leaving the open space inside the rainbow white.
- 2Color the rainbow stripes from outside in: tomato red, amber orange, golden yellow, grass green, then lavender purple on the inside.
- 3Fill the smiling sun in golden yellow and color the cottage walls in pale butter with a tomato red roof and burnt orange chimney.
- 4Color the tulips in rose pink and tomato red, the leaves and stems in grass green, and the tree and bushes in grass green as well.
- 5Add the grass patches in lime green and the cottage door in chocolate brown, and give the daisy centers a golden yellow touch.
- 6Optional: Leave the daisy petals and the highlights ivory or white for a fresh, bright finish.
