On a rainy day, a cheerful raccoon balances on one leg in a puddle while the other boot kicks up in a big splash. It wears tall rubber rain boots and holds a large open umbrella with both paws, mouth open in a happy smile. Raindrops fall everywhere, and water sprays up from the puddle around its feet. The big ringed tail curls behind it, and the mask markings show around the eyes. Leafy fern-like plants, two spotted mushrooms and a few grass tufts stand on either side. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the umbrella panels in alternating bright red and bright yellow, leaving the tip of the umbrella at the top in bright yellow.
- 2Fill the raccoon's head, body, arms, legs and tail in medium gray, then add charcoal gray to the eye masks and the dark tail stripes.
- 3Color the cream belly, muzzle and chin patches in cream white, and keep the eye whites bright white for a sparkly look.
- 4Paint the rain boots bright yellow with golden ochre soles, color the ears and open mouth soft pink, and make the umbrella handle warm brown.
- 5Fill the raindrops and puddle splashes with sky blue, then color the ferns in pale mint and fresh green and the mushroom caps in bright red with cream stems.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of charcoal gray along one side of the tail and boots to give them a little shadow.
