Sand Castle Builder Squirtle Pal at the Beach
Coloring guide
Kneeling on the sand, a smiling baby turtle-like creature with a fin-shaped crest on its head pats a sand castle into shape. The castle has three cone-topped towers, arched windows, a big arched doorway, and a little flag on a stick. The turtle has big sparkly eyes and an open, happy mouth, and its shell shows a bold spiral swirl. Up front you'll find a bucket, a small shovel, a scallop shell, a spiral seashell, and a starfish. Behind them are gentle waves, a horizon line, and two puffy clouds. Large shapes and clear outlines suit preschoolers and early elementary kids. Soft blues and teals could go on the turtle and its shell, and warm yellow and tan on the castle. Print the free PDF at home for classroom time or a rainy day. This fits right in with our Squirtle coloring pages — see also Eevee (Pokémon) and Legendary Pokémon.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky clouds in pale blue and the sea waves in ocean blue, leaving the sand and the thin white horizon band untouched.
- 2Color the turtle's head and arms in leaf green, then fill the shell with forest green and dark green, leaving the bright spiral lines for later.
- 3Fill the castle walls and tower in light sand, the roofs and door arches in sand tan, and the door windows in chocolate brown.
- 4Color the bucket and flag in tomato red, the bucket rim in dark red, and the fins in golden orange and mustard yellow.
- 5Add the turtle's belly in pale yellow, the shovel blade in bright blue and handle in sky blue, and the shells in rose pink, lavender purple, light blue and golden orange.
- 6Finish with the soft pink mouth, pale lime spots, and leave the eye whites and small highlights white to make the turtle sparkle.
