Sea Turtle Mandala Advanced Designs Reef Scene
Coloring guide
A big sea turtle swims straight toward you, its round eyes and little smiling face peeking out above a shell full of hexagons. Every hexagon holds its own flower, with a larger bloom in the center, and the flippers and head are covered in small pebble-like patterns. Around the turtle are striped tropical fish, floating bubbles, wavy lines near the water's surface, tall seaweed, and branching coral on both sides. Seashells and a starfish rest along the bottom edge. With so many tiny shapes, this free printable suits older kids, teens, or grown-ups who like fine-tipped pencils and gel pens. Soft greens and teals look good on the shell. Give each flower a different bright color so the hexagons stand out against the busy ocean background. Fans of Advanced Designs coloring pages often like Christmas Mandala and Kawaii as well.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the shell rim and border pieces around the turtle's back with shell brown, leaving the flower hexagons for later.
- 2Fill the head, the tail and the front of the flippers with yellow green and lime green, using the lime green for the flipper scale patterns.
- 3Color the center hexagon flower and the flowers in the outer shell hexagons with golden yellow and honey gold.
- 4Add bright orange and salmon pink accents to a few petals and the coral branches, and paint the tube coral on the left with lavender purple.
- 5Leave the background water, sand and empty spaces white so the turtle and reef stand out.
- 6Optional: add a few darker grass green strokes on the flipper scales and shell edges for depth.
