Seaside Sailboat with Gulls and a Wide Rainbow
Coloring guide
The heart of this page is a little sailboat bobbing over wavy water with a large rainbow arching behind it. A tall mast with a round ball on top holds a big triangular striped sail, and a smaller sail panel sits beside it. Small splashes pop up near the wooden hull. Three seagulls glide overhead with their wings spread wide, and fluffy clouds of different sizes float near the edges. The rainbow bands are wide enough for chunky crayons, so younger kids can manage them easily. Bright red and yellow on the sail stripes will echo the rainbow, and deep blues and teals suit the waves. It's a free printable with a calm seaside feel, handy for a rainy afternoon or a classroom lesson about weather and water. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the clouds and the sea: color the clouds pale blue and the water and waves sky blue, leaving the sky background white.
- 2Color the rainbow arcs from the outside in: bright red for the outer arc, golden yellow next, then lemon yellow, grass green, and royal blue on the innermost arc.
- 3Color the boat hull, rim, and bow in bright red, then fill the sail stripes by alternating lemon yellow with sky blue and royal blue.
- 4Color the mast pole in tan brown and the top ball and mast base in chocolate brown.
- 5Leave the seagulls and the white space inside the rainbow as white, so their bodies, wings, and heads look bright against the blue sky.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading by going over the sea and clouds with a second, slightly darker blue for depth.
