Smiling Baby Elephant Strolling Past a Round Sun

Coloring guide
This young elephant is out for a walk on a grassy patch, trunk curled up toward a round sun in the upper corner. The sun has no face, just short rays all the way around. Our elephant has big round eyes, a cheerful grin, two small curved tusks and wrinkle lines on the trunk. One large floppy ear has a curved line inside it. The tail ends in a little tuft, each foot shows its toenails, and three small clumps of grass sit by the feet. Thick, clean outlines make this free printable easy for preschoolers and early elementary kids who are still working on pencil control. A soft blue-gray elephant, a sunshine-yellow sun and green grass look great, and a touch of pink inside the ear adds some personality. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sun: fill the round center with golden yellow and leave the rays as they are.
- 2Color the elephant's body, head, both big ears, and all four legs with light gray, leaving the small gap between the front legs white.
- 3Fill the inside of the far ear and the tip of the trunk with coral pink.
- 4Color the tail with charcoal gray, then fill the two tusks and all the toenails with soft cream.
- 5Keep the eye whites, the eye shines, and the background white for a crisp look.
- 6Optional: add a few light strokes of charcoal gray along the shaded sides of the body and legs for a little depth.
