Here's a friendly young ibex standing proudly on a rocky ledge. Its head is turned a little, its eyes are big, and it has a smile and a small beard on its chin. Two long curved horns with ridged bands sweep up and back, and the shaggy fur on the chest, legs and short tail means lots of fluffy lines to color. Three snow-capped mountain peaks rise behind it, with a few small bushy shrubs on the hillside and two puffy clouds in the sky. Little hands can handle the big shapes of the rock, mountains and clouds, and older kids can take their time with the horn stripes and fur. Tan and cream suit the coat, gray-brown works for the horns, and icy light blue is nice on the snowy tips. No sign-up is needed to print it. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the goat's body, head, legs and cheeks with caramel brown, leaving the eyes and the white highlights in the eyes untouched.
- 2Fill the twisted horns with mocha brown and the inside of the ears with baby pink, then color the tail and the muzzle with cream.
- 3Color the hooves dark gray, and fill the bottom rock ledge with light gray and the rock face with medium gray.
- 4Color the two clouds with pale blue, the mountains behind the goat with sky blue, and the bushes on both sides with grass green.
- 5Leave the snowy peaks on the mountains white so they stand out against the blue.
- 6Optional: add a few light strokes of a darker shade of caramel brown on the goat's body to give the fur some depth.
