Four smiling children are squeezed together in a gondola cabin hanging from a thick cable, and they are the heart of this page. One wears a baseball cap, one has a ponytail, and two sit up front with big happy grins. Off to the right, a tall peak with a small hut on top rises behind smaller hills and pointed pine trees. Way down below, a winding river or path runs through a valley toward a tiny village of little houses. Big evergreens fill the bottom corners and two puffy clouds float overhead. Kids get big shapes to fill on the cabin and tiny details to tackle in the village. A bright red or yellow cabin would pop against the green trees and blue-gray mountains. Free to print. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big sky on the left, the distant mountain ranges, and the river in sky blue, leaving the small cloud at the top white.
- 2Color the gondola body, roof, and bottom stripes in bright red, add the cherry red band near the base, and fill the cable wheels and hanger in light gray.
- 3Fill the hills, valley, and mountain slopes in grass green, then color the pine trees in forest green, working from the big areas toward the smaller trees.
- 4Color the four kids: peach faces, golden yellow hair on the front-left boy, brown hair on the girl behind, royal blue cap, and purple jacket on the girl in front, leaving the eyes white.
- 5Optional: add a slightly darker shade of steel blue along the mountain edges and a little extra grass green on the hill shadows for depth.
