Waving Bus Driver Seen Through the Windshield

Look through the big front windshield and you'll find a young driver in a peaked cap. He waves with one hand and holds the steering wheel with the other. His smile is wide and open, and he wears a collared shirt, a tie and a round badge on his hat. The bus is drawn head-on, with two round headlights, a grille made of horizontal bars, a sign panel and two round lights along the top, side mirrors, and two ribbed front tires at the bottom. Bold, clean lines keep the big shapes easy for small hands to color. Sunny yellow suits the bus body, deep blue works for the uniform and cap, and light gray is good for the headlights. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big yellow areas: color the whole bus body and front panel in golden yellow, leaving the windshield and headlight centers for later.
- 2Fill the windshield background on both sides of the driver with pale blue, and color the top destination panel in sky blue.
- 3Color the driver's uniform, sleeves, and the cap in royal blue, then add the dark navy brim under the cap and the golden button on top.
- 4Use peach skin for the face, ears, waving hand, and right hand; color the hair brown and the smiling mouth coral red. Leave the white shirt collar and the teeth white.
- 5Color the grille bars, tires, mirrors, and steering wheel in dark gray, and the bumper and headlight rims in light gray. Fill the headlight centers with pale yellow and the turn signals with orange.
- 6Optional: add a few light strokes of darker blue on the uniform and a touch of darker yellow on the bus body to give it a little depth.
