Summer Beach Crab With Starfish and Seashell

With big round eyes on stalks and an open-mouthed grin, this crab holds both claws high like a happy wave. The jagged claw tips, segmented legs and wide oval body give kids plenty of shapes to work on. Down at the bottom, sandy ground made of little dots and pebbles holds a five-armed starfish covered in circles and a ribbed scallop-style shell. Because the outlines are bold and clean, preschoolers and early elementary kids can handle this free printable with crayons or markers. Try an orange-red crab, a sunny yellow starfish and a soft pink shell, then dot the sand in tan or gold. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big crab body, both claws, and all the legs with coral red, leaving the two eye whites and the background white.
- 2Fill the arm joints, the upper leg pieces, and the starfish with golden orange so they stand out against the red.
- 3Color the seashell in lavender purple, keeping the ridges as separate lines.
- 4Fill the upper part of the smile with deep red and color the tongue soft pink.
- 5Finish by adding black pupils in the eyes and outlining details; leave the sand and bubbles white.
- 6Optional: Add a few darker strokes of the same color along the shell and claws to give them a little depth.
