Friendly Fox on a Winter Woodland Path

Coloring guide
A cheerful young fox walks toward you along a snowy forest path, big bushy tail curled up behind and head tilted to one side with a friendly smile. Tiny paw prints cross the snow at the lower left, showing where it just came from. Bare, branching trees frame both sides, and two small snow-dusted evergreens sit at the edges. A few twigs stick up from the ground. Fluffy chest fur, pointed ears and a zigzag pattern on the tail give kids lots to color. Warm orange and rust suit the fox, with creamy white on the tail tip and chest, and soft blues and grays for snow and shadows. Grab this free printable and keep a few extra copies around. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the fox's body, head, and ears in bright orange, leaving the chest and tail tip for later.
- 2Fill the chest, cheeks, and the tip of the tail with cream white, keeping the eye whites and snowy background white.
- 3Color both pine trees in forest green, from the top branches down to the base.
- 4Give the chin a soft peach skin tone, then color the back leg and the front legs and paws in dark brown.
- 5Color the tree trunks and the paw prints in warm brown, and add a little lime green to the shadow on the back leg.
- 6Optional: add a darker touch of dark brown along the lower edges of the tail and ears for a little depth.
