Waist-deep in the water, a big, friendly Godzilla-style monster grins with a mouthful of teeth and a cheerful round eye. Spiky plates run down his back and stripes cross his belly. He holds his clawed hands out in front, with little water splashes flying around his body. Wavy lines mark the sea ahead of him, and a curving shoreline with small pebbles and leafy bushes sits at the bottom. There's a palm tree on each side and puffy clouds in the sky. Thick, clear outlines are easy for young kids to follow, and the large open spaces work well with crayons or markers. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big sea in the middle and the water around the palm trees in sky blue, leaving the wave lines unfilled as white.
- 2Fill the wave foam at the back of the dinosaur in light blue, and the thin shoreline foam in pale blue.
- 3Color the beach and the sand corners in sandy yellow, then add the belly stripes on the dinosaur in the same sandy yellow.
- 4Use grass green for the dinosaur body, arms, and the palm fronds and bushes, leaving the claws white.
- 5Finish with bright blue on the back and head spikes, warm brown on the palm trunk rings, and medium gray for the small pebble. Optional: Add a little darker blue along the bottom of the sea for depth.
