Kiwi Fruit Whole and Halved on a Plate
Coloring guide
A happy whole kiwi with big sparkly eyes and an open-mouth smile sits on a round plate next to a kiwi cut in half. Small dashed lines cover the whole fruit to show its fuzzy skin, and a little flower-shaped stem sits on top. The cut half in front shows a ring of tiny seeds around a bumpy center, a fun spot for small hands to fill in. Two big leaves with center veins rise behind the fruit. Bold lines and large shapes make this a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids using crayons or chunky markers. Lime green for the flesh, soft brown for the fuzzy skin and black for the seeds should do it. Print this free page for a healthy-eating lesson or a quiet afternoon. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big kiwi body and the outer skin of the halved kiwi, filling them with warm brown.
- 2Fill the flesh of the halved kiwi with lime green, then color the middle core pale yellow.
- 3Color both leaves with leaf green, using a slightly darker stroke along the veins if you like.
- 4Fill the plate with sky blue, top and rim alike.
- 5Add the little stem on top of the kiwi in light tan, with a dark chocolate brown center.
- 6Finish with the smile in coral pink, leaving the eye whites and the black seeds as they are. Optional: add a few darker brown strokes on the kiwi body for a fuzzy texture.
