One Big Apple Fruit with Leaf and Shiny Spot

Coloring guide
This page is just one round apple filling the whole sheet, outlined with thick, smooth lines that little hands can follow without much trouble. A short stem pokes up from the dip at the top, and a pointed leaf curls off to the right with a single vein down its middle. Over on the left side there's a shiny highlight, an oval streak with a small dot below it, so the apple looks glossy. You'll also notice a gentle notch at the bottom. Nothing else is on the page, so the apple gets all the attention. Toddlers, preschoolers and classroom fruit lessons are a natural fit for this free printable. Red for the apple, green for the leaf and brown for the stem work nicely, and if you leave the highlight white it will look like it's catching the light. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- cherry red
- leaf green
- warm brown
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the big round apple body with cherry red, using back-and-forth strokes and leaving the two small shine shapes on the left side white.
- 2Color the leaf with leaf green, and add a thin green line down the middle if you like.
- 3Fill the stem and the little oval at its top with warm brown, keeping the top opening a slightly lighter brown for contrast.
- 4Leave the large curved shine spot and the small round dot on the left side of the apple white so they look shiny.
- 5Optional: Add a little darker red along the lower edges of the apple and a touch of darker green on the lower part of the leaf to give them depth.
