Peeled Banana Fruit with a Happy Smile

Coloring guide
Meet a cheery banana standing upright with its peel opened into four soft flaps at the bottom. It has big round eyes with shiny highlights, little curved eyebrows, and a wide open smile with a small tongue inside. The stem end is a short rounded stub at the very base. With no background, kids can put all their focus on the banana. Bold outlines and large shapes make it a good match for preschoolers and early elementary kids with crayons or chunky markers. Bright yellow works for the banana itself, and a deeper yellow or light brown on the inside of the flaps gives a bit of contrast. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the tall banana body at the top of the face with pale yellow, leaving the eye whites white.
- 2Color the left peel flap, the middle peel flap, and the lower front peel with golden yellow, working from the outer edges inward.
- 3Color the right peel flap pale yellow so it matches the top body.
- 4Fill the banana stem tip at the bottom with warm brown.
- 5Color the open smiling mouth maroon red and add a coral pink tongue inside it.
- 6Optional: add light diagonal strokes in golden yellow and a slightly darker shade along the edges of the peel flaps to give them a little depth.
