Ladybug on a Leaf, a Simple Advanced Designs Pick
Coloring guide
Seen from above, a ladybug with a big smile and round, wide-set eyes rests in the middle of a large leaf. Two antennae with round tips curl up from its head, and six bendy legs poke out to the sides. The shell splits down the center and carries six oval spots, three per side, all with bold, clear outlines that small hands can follow easily. Behind the bug, the leaf has a curved stem at the bottom and simple veins branching across it. There's nothing else on the page, so the focus stays on the bug and the leaf. Bright red for the shell with black spots, and a few shades of green for the leaf, looks great. Free to print, and a good fit for preschool and early elementary, at home or in a bug unit. Add this to your Advanced Designs coloring page collection, alongside Hard / Detailed and Mandala.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the leaf on the left side and along the bottom with leaf green, and leave the right side of the leaf white.
- 2Fill the two big wing covers of the ladybug with bright red, keeping the dividing line between them dark.
- 3Color the head, all the spots on the wings, and the legs with charcoal gray.
- 4Fill the two round tips of the antennae with bright red, leaving the thin antenna stems white.
- 5Keep the eye whites and the smile area white, and let the dark pupils stand out against them.
- 6Optional: add a few light diagonal strokes of the same color inside the leaf and wings to give a textured, pencil-like look.
