Sunny Face Advanced Designs Page with Scalloped Cloud Border
Coloring guide
Right in the middle of this page is a round, happy sun. Its eyes sparkle with little highlights, the eyebrows are tiny curves, and there's a sweet smile with two circle cheeks. Pointed triangle rays fan out around the face so the whole thing looks like a star. Behind it, a wavy scalloped border makes a soft, cloud-like frame with rounded bumps all the way around. Lines are bold and clean, and the shapes are big enough for kids who want a bit more detail than a basic outline. Golden yellow works nicely for the face, orange for the pointy rays, and light sky blue for the scalloped edge. Leave the cheek circles for pink. The PDF is free to print, so go ahead and make a few extra copies. This fits right in with our Advanced Designs coloring pages — see also Christmas Mandala and Kawaii.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- sky blue
- golden yellow
- warm orange
- rosy pink
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the scalloped cloud border around the sun in sky blue, and leave the background outside the cloud white.
- 2Fill the round face of the sun with golden yellow, keeping the facial details uncolored.
- 3Color all the pointed rays around the sun in warm orange, working from one ray to the next.
- 4Add rosy pink to the two round cheeks under the eyes for a cheerful glow.
- 5Leave the eye whites bright white so the eyes look shiny and alive.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shade of the same colors near the edges of the rays and the cloud to give them depth.
