Happy Whale Sending Up a Fountain on the Waves

Coloring guide
This round whale floats right at the surface with a big friendly eye, a curved smile and a belly of neat striped lines. Water shoots up from its blowhole and breaks into leaf-shaped droplets, and a few smaller drops drift off to either side. The tail curls up behind the body, and one small flipper rests near the front. Three rows of wavy lines run under and around the whale to show the sea. Outlines are bold and the shapes are big, so little ones can stay inside them without much fuss. It's a nice free printable for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Sky blue works well for the body, with white or a paler blue on the belly stripes. A bright aqua spout will pop against the page, and the waves could go deep ocean blue or green. Kids who like Whale coloring pages usually enjoy Monkey and Duck too.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- ocean blue
- light sky blue
- cream
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the whale's body, tail, and flipper with ocean blue, keeping the eye area open.
- 2Fill the tall water spray and all the small water drops around the spout with light sky blue.
- 3Color the stripes on the whale's belly with cream, working from the top stripe down to the bottom.
- 4Leave the eye white untouched, then color the pupil black or dark blue so the white shine stays clear.
- 5Keep the wave lines and the background white so the whale stands out on the page.
- 6Optional: Add a few darker blue strokes along the lower body to give the whale a little depth.
