Snail and Mushrooms on Alphabet Letter S

Coloring guide
Perched right on top of a large, curvy capital S is a happy snail with two big round eyes on long stalks and a spiral shell swirling behind it. Down at the bottom of the page, two spotted mushrooms, one tall and one small, stand in tufts of grass beside the lower curve of the S. Three little five-petal flowers are tucked into the grass along the base. Small hands will find the wide, open letter easy to color, and older kids get some detail work from the shell spiral and mushroom dots. An orange and yellow swirl on the shell, a soft green body and red mushroom caps go well together. Grab the free printable PDF for a quiet, creative moment. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big green letter S: color the whole S shape in leaf green, leaving the inside gap white.
- 2Color the snail's shell in tangerine orange, then fill the snail's body and head in lemon yellow.
- 3Color both mushroom caps in cherry red and the mushroom stems and undersides in cream beige.
- 4Fill the flower petals and flower centers with lemon yellow, and color the grass blades in leaf green.
- 5Leave the white spots on the mushrooms, the snail's eye whites, and the background white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along one side of the S and the mushroom stems to make them look rounder.
