Squirrel Girl on an Oak Branch Swing: Calico Critters Page

A smiling squirrel girl with a bow on her ear sits on a rope swing hanging from a thick oak branch. She holds both ropes, and her big curly tail swirls out behind her. Oak leaves sprout from the branch overhead, with a few more drifting through the air on each side. Down at the bottom, tufts of grass surround a single acorn. The swing seat is a plain wooden plank with twisted ropes, which makes for fun texture. Large shapes and clear outlines work for preschoolers and early elementary kids, while the leaves and tail give practiced hands smaller spots to tackle. Autumn oranges, golds and reddish browns look great on the leaves, and a soft pink bow will pop against them. Print the free PDF at home for a classroom project or weekend craft.
