Storybook Castle With Rainbow, Birds and Stars
Coloring guide
Swirly candy-striped roofs top every tower of this storybook castle, and each one carries a little waving flag. The big middle tower has three arched windows and a crenellated balcony, with two shorter towers and two small corner turrets around it. At the front is a rounded wooden door with ring handles, and the stone walls are dotted with simple bricks. A wide rainbow arcs behind the castle, and the whole thing rests on a puffy cloud. Three little birds flutter overhead among outlined stars of different sizes. Those spiral roofs are fun in two alternating shades, say pink and purple, and a classic red, orange, yellow, green and blue rainbow would suit them well. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big cream castle walls, leaving the arched windows and the small sky gaps white.
- 2Color the twisted spires and their bases in hot pink and light pink, alternating stripes for a candy look.
- 3Fill the battlements and the middle wall band with soft purple, and color the wooden door in wood brown with golden yellow around its arch.
- 4Paint the big cloud at the bottom and the bird bodies in pale blue and sky blue, then add the rainbow bands in red, coral, orange, golden yellow, grass green, bright blue, and lavender.
- 5Finish with the window glass in sky blue and pale blue, the tan stone bricks, the golden yellow stars and flags, and the light yellow flags on the spires. Optional: Add a little darker shading under the clouds and spires for depth.
